Remember when people got mad because Joe Calzaghe

It's cool when a great fighter does it to a less great opponent like Ali did to his opponents. Jones was greater than everyone he fougt so it's okay. He was just showing of his all time greatness. Calzaghe was disrespectfull because he did it to a far greater fighter whose old age he took advantage of.
Still it happened, everyone involved has moved on. Just think is showed that Calzaghe has no class.

This is a bit of a double standard, to clown a less great opponent is OK, but to clown a good opponent is not.

I think what you probably meant to say was, its OK when a boxer you like does it, but its not ok when its being done to a boxer you like.

I think Joe was justified in doing it, and i'm sure Roy thought it was kind of funny as well.

But honestly clowning is generally disrespectful, the only guy i can think of that clowned in a non-disrespectful way was Augustus (burton)

I know this thread is old but am amazed that people dont realise the reason Joe was clowning was cos Roy was constantly talking to him the whole fight even when he was getting whooped

I'm a big Roy fan, and at first I was pissed about it, but that's mainly because Joe Calzaghe is an idiot and I do not like him.

In retrospect though Roy probably had it coming because he took on a fight that he couldn't win at that time, and had clowned his entire career and made people look like fools.
