Him and James Toney have a couple things in common.

You know what though we shouldn't crack on Toney or Vargas because they only screwed up once. Its not like they were doing that their whole careers. Plus JT is great on or off steroids.

Yeah, I was about to say that.

JT can win with or without steroids, the De La Hoya fight proved that Vargas can't.

ye lots of gyz do that tho, cotto, gatti to.
it gives them a HUGE edge in power... they jus try to make the fight weight, then go back to their normal.
vargas is good, but he can't take left hooks at all.
tito result TKO - all KDs except the last was cuz of left hooks
              DLH result TKO

Vargas got hit by 2 of the best left hooks in his weight class Tito/DLH, that dont mean he cant take a left hook. He has an average chin but when he opens up and goes toe to toe his gets caought but when he boxes he is good..like he did againts Ike and Tito for some rounds. Againts DLh he was just really pissed off I think if he would of kept his composure it would of been a better right but he exhausted him self early trying to destroy DLH.

All the setbacks that Vargas has faced in the last 5 years, were because of the Trinidad fight. Trinidad just destroyed him physically if not mentally also. Do you think that Wilfredo Rivera would have dropped a pre-Trinidad, Vargas? I doubt it. Do you think DLH would have stopped him? Hell no. Fernando Vargas is one of my favorite boxers, but my favorite boxer(Trinidad) turned him into someone else. I hope he can get back to where he was.

Seriously ... those guys took years off his career. Especially Tito.

Tito did that to alot of fighters, Oba Carr was undefeated, Campas was undefeated, Reid, Vargas..etc...
