Like I said before I like Mares he is very talented, but Perez will bring the heat like theres no tomorrow. I think Perez will pressure him to death. I think Perez will overwhelm him with punch out and rough fighting!! I think Perez wins this by TKO in 11
If Mares somehow, pull this off, then he is legit in my eyes.Comment

i see what ur saying papa. i just think its gonna be close man. could go either way. abner mares has superior boxing skills as he's shown in the pros and amateurs beating perez before and beating juanma 3 times...and juanma can box papa... so the boxing edge i give to mares...the "heat" of perez is gonna be tough to handle. i see mares taking it with a SD.Like I said before I like Mares he is very talented, but Perez will bring the heat like theres no tomorrow. Haha ricans in pro boxing are a whole nother story. Trinidad beat like 4 gold medalists, and Cotto beat a gold and silver medalist.i see what ur saying papa. i just think its gonna be close man. could go either way. abner mares has superior boxing skills as he's shown in the pros and amateurs beating perez before and beating juanma 3 times...and juanma can box papa... so the boxing edge i give to mares...the "heat" of perez is gonna be tough to handle. i see mares taking it with a SD.
I like Mares though, but he gotta be careful with Perez whose older and physically tougher I believe, he cant fight Perez, he gotta box him.Comment

I have basically the same assessment of this fight and this is in no way a slight towards Abner who I think the world of. It's just the Yonnhy is on an entirely different plane than anyone Abner has faced and I am not sure he is ready for this type of pressure. Perez is a beast through and through and just a hungry fighter who literally fights for his family and country.Like I said before I like Mares he is very talented, but Perez will bring the heat like theres no tomorrow. either way though I think we might see a FOTY type fight. Kind of ironic that the main event is almost like a passing of the torch in terms of can't miss action IMOComment

i dont think that'd be a good idea cuz mares can counter well and throws vicious body shots on the inside.Like I said before I like Mares he is very talented, but Perez will bring the heat like theres no tomorrow. perez should look to box from the outside, which IS something he is capable of doing. he just gets ****** into exchanges.
in some ways, perez' style is similar to erik morales'. he does have the ability to box, give angles and change directions from the outside, but he punches in volume.
its funny cuz mares' style reminds me of post junior jones MAB.
hopefully we get a fight similar to MAB/moralesComment
