There is such a thing as a "stay-busy" fight, and that's exactly what Peter-Martinez is....remember, HBO only has so much $ and so many dates each year

This is where you are supposed to point me to someone else who is in the top 10 at any weight class who has a "stay-busy" fight against someone who isn't even in the top 100, especially after Peter looked worlds better against Williams and Diaz then he did against two much lesser opponents in his previous two fights, Pudar and Shufford.

have you even seen Charles Shufford fight? Have you seen his performances vs Williams' performances? If you had, then you would not say a dumb thing like "two much lesser opponents" and name one of them being Shufford.

Maybe we should hate on Wlad for fighting Fabio "Roli-Poli" Moli.

You are forgetting who is in my avatar, Dr. Steelhammer, so that is one fight that I saw Shufford in. Needless to say Shufford looked horrible. I also saw him get destroyed by McCline. I also see that Shufford has lost to one Gilbert Martinez who Williams TKO'd in 9, Clay-Bey, and Robert Davis. Williams is notorious for having a bad chin and he has lost by KO to Nielsen and Akinwande and was outboxed by Harris and Donald in an MD. Williams has by far lost to superior opposition and beaten superior opposition (Brewster and the other Castillo vs. Nicholson, Levin, Purlette, Martinez, Jackson, and Bostice). If they had fought Williams would have walked right through him as Shufford has ZERO power. Williams is better than Shufford. Deal with it.

Wlad fought Moli after his brutal loss to Sanders. The last time I checked Peter brutally beat Diaz. But either way I agree. Moli was a wasted fight for Wlad. Wlad has said this on numerous occasions which is why he fought TOS instead of some bum after he lost to Brewster.

So what if Shufford looked horrible vs Wlad? That was back when Wlad was killing everyone. So that point means little to nothing.

His fight vs McCline was stopped too early, and Shufford was certainly not destroyed in that fight. It was an even fight when the early stoppage came.

Nieslen, Brewster, Castillo, Harris, and Donald are all nothing special. If that's what you use to make your case that "Shufford is a much lesser fighter than Williams" then it is case weaker than Wlad's chin.

So you can "deal" with that. Ok?

Notice how you missed the fact that Williams beat Martinez, but Martinez beat Shufford.

NO, I didn't miss it. Thanks for the help, though. I thought you only buy into the "Fighter A is better than fighter B because fighter A beat fighter C and fighter B didn't" theory when it applies to DM, but I guess it goes for Jeremy Williams too.

In any case, my only point is that Williams is not "much better" than Shufford. That's a big overstatement

i think peter looks like the next coming of ray mercer... big puncher, who can take a punch, but is otherwise limited... i dont think he's all that great, but with division so weak he's stands a good chance to make some noice...

I'd welcome that if I had actually seen any evidence of him being able to take a punch. As for now he's a big puncher who may or may not be able to take a punch.

i'm guessing cause of his short, thick neck that he can take a punch... he looks like he can anyways...

alot of people are excited about his win over williams, but to me it means nothing... he did what he was supposed to... lets not forget willams was one punch KO'd by akinwande and he lost brain neilsen as well
