That cat is coming in with his Air Jordans to the ring, he's gonna wear and tear them bitches by the end of the fight.
Will Andre Dirrell run from Arthur Abraham?

He might, but hopefully he learned from the Froch fight that running doesn't impress some judges even if you are landing the better punches, etc.
Dirrell should realise that he is quick enough to box off the backfoot against anyone in this tourney. Dirrell has a ton of advantages against Abraham, like speed, reach, footwork. He needs to use them wisely.
He needs to keep up a steady pace also. The longer you keep Abraham behind that shell, the better.

Excellent post. Direll needs to make this fight by working and staying in the pocket instead of just throwing 1 or 2 shots at a time and then run.He might, but hopefully he learned from the Froch fight that running doesn't impress some judges even if you are landing the better punches, etc.

My fear is that AA will be behind the shell and Direll will be on his bike & we will have a very boring fight.Last edited by AllEyesOpen; 03-26-2010, 08:56 AM.Comment

Look at what Alexander did with Urango, he's stayed in the pocket, very little clinching unless needed and threw enough to keep Urango at bay and off balance. I'm not a big fan of "pure boxers" but at least he did enough to not make the fight boring, he got tagged a couple of times but took the punches well and went ahead and KTFO Urango, now that's impressive to me.He might, but hopefully he learned from the Froch fight that running doesn't impress some judges even if you are landing the better punches, etc.

This fight could potentially be a stinker given their styles.
Dirrell could win by throwing and running but thats not the way to win any fans lol especially when he is more than fast enough to beat Abraham in the pocket. Abrahams explosive bursts are something to watch out for though.Comment

I see what you mean, Alexander not only showed skill but he showed alot of power and toughness also.Look at what Alexander did with Urango, he's stayed in the pocket, very little clinching unless needed and threw enough to keep Urango at bay and off balance. Urango isn't like Abraham though, he doesn' have the same level of power or skill or defense.
Dirrell is fast enough to box in the pocket against Abraham although he would have to watch for Abrahams explosive bursts, he gets one through and thats it.Comment

Of course not, but what I meant was he had a guy who was "supposed" to be stronger and did what he had to do to win the fight and make it exciting. He traded with him, and did minimal clinching. Urango is no AA obviously but like you said if Dirrell wants to make an impression he needs to fight in a similar way Alexander did, but I really doubt this would be the case, I don't think Dirrell would react well by one of those huge shots from AA the way Alexander did against Urango, again obviously not the same kind of puncher but Urango isn't really feather fisted anyway, he's known to be a puncher.I see what you mean, Alexander not only showed skill but he showed alot of power and toughness also.

Dirrell can run and potshot all night to a decision win but i wanna see something different, i wanna see Dirrell show hunger and determination. He never showed much against Froch.Comment
Do you think Andre Dirrell will run like a frightened chicken for most of the fight against Arthur Abraham?
Or will he fight like a man?
TS I do not see the reason to put this in there.
Dirrell will box but the king will catch him in the end.Comment
