I'm a fan of Vitali (Wlad is too boring IMO) and I understand what TS is saying, however, IMO they aren't appreciated because of their style (They're big man version of Mayweather) and the lack of great oppositon. People like to see champions challenged and pushed to their limits, not dominating mediocre opposition.

Pacman, De La Hoya, Tyson, Gatti. These are all names the public knows, not because the ethnic group each fighter belongs to strictly supports them, but because they were our favorite fighters to watch. Sorry to inform you but white and black people like to watch Pacquiao and De La Hoya too!

Tyson is definitely the biggest name in boxing in America in the last 30 years. Did you guys know only 14% of America is black?
      - For you to say that you definitely know the motivation behind the opinions of over 300 Million people, no, no you can't.

      - I'v seen the Pacquiao, Gatti, etc are foreign fighters that are loved by Americans statement before. Answer this, name 1 fighter from a Former Soviet country that the vast majority of Americans love, especially at HW? Most Americans still have a Cold War, Rocky 4 mindset.

I'm not telling you or anybody to like Klitschko or be a fan. I would though at least respect a person who flat out said, i don't like them and their Ethnicity is one of the reasons, if that is how they felt. It's obvious that some people on here think that but are too much of a vagina to say it.

I'm black and I got alot of respect for the Klitschkos. I'm a huge fan of Vitali and I'm on/off with Wlad, but he's growing on me. I get tired of reading or hearing people take shots at them. These are great champions man, what the hell do y'all want from them?

The Klits don't get any props from Americans because the average American doesn't even know who they are. They need to start fighting in Vegas and promoting their fights better. Plus they suffer from a weak Div. They don't have anybody to push them and make them look better. They just look like big guys beating inferior competition. I think they are great fighters, but they need that 1 signature fight to make me say wow.

Americans have always been attracted to the flashy fighter. It took Hopkins nearly a decade as champion to get the recognition he rightfully deserved from the American public because he wasn't flashy. Thus why is it so surprising to Euro's that American's don't care to watch Wlad whose style can literally make the hardcore boxing enthusiast fall asleep...

There is no hate or lack of respect for the Klits, what the American boxing fan hates and disrespect is the current state of HW boxing. The division is a complete and utter joke thus nobody pays any attention to it. The fact the Klits are boring fighters doesn't help them.

So to sum it all up...

Current HW + boring = nobody cares

Vitali was becoming a serious U.S. star but his injuries, the ****** decision to put the Williams fight on PPV, and a four year layoff, killed his momentum.

I dont even see how people can compare clinching, cheating, head butting, holding boring UD Hopkins to the Klitschkos clean KOs. People wont realize how great they are untill they are gone.

For a Minority of Americans i could agree but i do think the vast majority to this very day still call him "bitchko" or "quitchko" due to the Byrd fight (even though he needed surgery to repair his torn rotator cuff) and alot don't respect his heart shown in the Lennox fight. Most of the comments on here are that an old ****ty Lewis ripped his face off and how Vitali is a complete fraud robot.
