  • I like Wladimir. I am very interested in his fights. He looks very tall and very big. I think he is a very good boxer. I hope he will be champion again.

    • sorry winter but glass jaw, lack of stamina and too easy to hit.

anyone with a punch knows they can take him out, when it came to chins his brother got his share.

      • If Manny Steward works with Wlad on his defensive game, I feel as though Wlad will re-enter the contender picture. His offense is second to none but his defense is what's haunted him in his past.

It's hard to get that much better defensively when you're as far into your career as is Wlad.

Even if he works hard as hell on his defense....it will only show in the early parts of a fight.
When fatigue sets in....he'll forget what he learned.
He needed it to be instilled in him & it never will be.

          • excellent post Jabs, recent example over this side of the pond was Steve Murray against Graeme Earl at lightweight. Murray a terrific ****er (at domestic level) but somewhat lax in his defence, the first 3 rounds he had terrific success but by the fourth the hands started to drop the old habits came back and sure enough he was stopped in the 6th.

Agreed. It's a lot harder to keep your concentration and poise when you're about to collapse from exhaustion. He'll need a lot of work to tighten up his defense and keep that chin protected.

His Euro style consisted of leaving his unmoving head straight up in the air....& made him a ridiculously easy target for Sanders' left hand.
That's why Steward was brought in.
I guess its been a long time since you saw that fight.

Every opponent who has beaten Wlad refuses to give him a rematch.

I think anyone with a big punch can take anyone out. I have a feeling very few fighters can take a big punch. I hope Wladimir does not have a glass jaw like you said. I have a feeling he does not have a glass jaw. He would not have been champion before if he had this.
