  • Is Wlad a Shot Fighter?

There is a lot of talk going around the boxing community that Wlad is a shot fighter. Wlad was brutally beaten by Sanders and a lot of people think that this ruined Wlad as a fighter. There might be some validity to that too. Its up to Wlad to prove it wrong. Love him or hate him, there is no current heavyweight champion or contender who has beaten as good of competition as Wlad has and in such dominate fashion and he is only 28 years old. There is no way that a prime Wlad becomes exhausted after 1 round of boxing. Though I don't understand why Manny would change Wlad's entire fighting style before a title fight as well. Wlad's style was not his problem. Why throw the European style out the window? If Wlad is in fact a shot fighter, he should lose or struggle to beat TOS. Either way TOS is clearly a better fighter than Brewster. There is no way a prime Wlad loses or struggles with TOS .

I kinda think he is. But if we see the Wlad that disected Mercer. He might get back in da mix. I think Sanders ruined him though!

Yeah I hope not, but unlike the Jones fans who refused to admit that it might be possible, I am able to admit it.

What? Its 7-1 that you guys think Wlad isn't shot. This is pretty surprising. Why do you all hate on him then? There is no one under 30 who is as good as Wlad if you guys don't think that he is shot.

Keep on hating. Being not very good somehow allowed him to be able to beat better competition than any current heavyweight contender or belt holder. Strange isn't it.

I would say that the vote count being as lopsided as it is can be attributed to people just plain and simple being a fan of Wlads and hoping that hes not shot as a fighter. Its like me thinking DLH was going to beat Hopkins. I knew that DLH was out matched, but I still hoped that he would win the fight. I think realistic Wlad fans know hes out of it now but still hold on to the hope that he can be great once again. IMO it's not going to happen. Once Wlad lost to Sanders he lost a lot of credibility, then we he embarassed him self and lost to that bum Brewster, he lost all credibility IMO. Wlad is done as a fighter. Maybe he could beat a Danny Williams or a Booker, but I think everyone else can take him out.

I know he beat Byrd, but I think he has been exposed now and if they were to fight again Byrd would beat him too.

I voted yes, but I a wiling to wait and see Saturday before I make my final decision.
He has skills, here is no doubt about that, but that chin is very questionable.
He showed a lot of heart, getting up time and time again against Sanders, but that was the first time he'd been beaten up like that. He followed that with a couple of sparring sessions disguised as fights, then got KO'd again by what was supposed to be another sparring session.
He beat up on Brewster like nobodies business, yet Brewster withstood everything and came back to clock him.
Losing in that manner can't be good for his confidence. Sanders and Brewster both were supposed to be easy victories, and both took him down. Of the 2, the Brewster fight has to weigh most heavily, because he unloaded everything he hadon the man and still got knocked out. Now he is likely questioning not only his chin, but his power.

If he comes out gunshy Saturday, he's shot. If he comes out and fights, I will give him another chance, unless he gets KO'd again. Then he's done.

Well if he loses to TOS I'll cast my vote on your side. As for Byrd, if Wlad was exposed Byrd wouldn't be able to anything about it. He doesn't have any power.
