If Bradley beats Abregu and goes back to 140

I just don't know what any other 140lber can do to even make a case for rivaling him as #1 other than beating the man himself.

Do you realize how ballsy a move this is for Tim to be fighting a dangerous and IDK probably recently ranked 147lber who can punch has some decent skill but has no belt and is almost totally unknown outside of hardcore fans so he won't even make that much money for the fight?

I cannot stress this enough and how much respect I have for Bradley for taking this road which so many fighters seem to avoid and he is doing this in his 1st fight moving up to 147.

Should he win this the rankings at 140 look like
    1. TIM BRADLEY

    2. Devon Alexander
    3. Amir Kahn
    4. Ricky Hatton
    5. Marcos Maidana

    get the picture?

True, Timothy is clearly the truth at 140, a P4P kind of guy. If He goes through all the young talent in 140, especially undefeated, he may have a HOF kind of resume. Though if I were one of the other 140lbers, I wouldn't mind catch him in a 140 fight immediately after a 147 fight.

I agree except if that if theres that much space between Bradley and Alexander there should be just as much between Alexander and Khan.

Fair enough but Devon would need to do something really impressive if Bradley beats Abregu for him to be thought of on equal terms with Bradley at that point.

Im with you that Bradley is by far the best. I just feel Devon is equally just as far the second best. Urango is no world beater, but to KO him is impressive. I was lookin for Ortiz to be up there until the Maidana fight. Same with Khan in the Prescott fight.

Urango being stopped was something just a picture perfect upper cut but I am going off of resume not skills and ability.

Even if I would have Tim as 100% the man at 140 if he beats Abregu that doesn't mean that Devon couldn't win a head to head match up.

This is a good move for Bradley, if he can win impressively, this could open up doors for him at 147, giving him more options to pursue. Maybe looking into future fights with callazo, quintana, berto.. I think this could turn out better for him than staying at at 140 and being avoided..most guys at 140 are saying they want Bradley but are not stepping up to the plate...

Oh I was going off resume too which is why I brought up the KO of Urango. Urango is a walking chin and a KO of him of a resume looks good, especially since I considered Alexander to more boxer than puncher. I think fight fans got lucky with the talent at 140 seeing as most of them want to fight each other. I cant believe some of the hate Bradley gets on here hes always in top shape, comes to fight and ducks nobody. Its a pleasure to watch him.

One day Bradley will campaign at welter, but for now, he should stay at 140. And with Bradley making a needed jump to HBO, and HBO's unoffical tournament going on, Bradley won't have to worry about top fighters not avoiding him anymore.
