Comments Thread For: Valuev Should Get Away From Don King, Says Karmazin

Former junior middleweight champion Roman Karmazin tried to warn his countryman, Nikolai Valuev, to get away from co-promoter Don King, but the seven-foot Russian giant didn't listen to his advice. Valuev is co-promoted by King and Sauerland Event. [Click Here To Read More]

If he didn't want to take roman's advice he could have asked Nate Campbell about don, 2.5 million and rejecting it is crazy ,

Valuev will never have another opportunity to make $2,500,000 for a fight.

I hate seeing a promoter turn down a fight over money. That decision should always be up to the fighter. Now if Don was having to promote the show, and there just wasnt enough money to make it happen, well thats one thing. But in this case Klitschko was promoting it, so Don's exposure was zero.

The thing though is this. None of us will ever know for sure just WHO turned it down. Valuev could very well have told Don "I'm not doing it for $2.5". But if in fact Don did turn it down without Valuev's consent then thats messed up. One thing though is that there was no public statement from Valuev afterwards saying that he would have accepted it for $2.5, so who knows for sure................

2.5M and the Klits are the one promoting the fight?? No cost to Valuev's team? Thats a good offer.
