In the 7 years preceeding the Jones fight Ruiz had only lost twice to Tua and Holyfield. After the fight he went on a 3 fight winning streak of Rahman, OPquendo and Golota so he wasn't total garbage. Ruiz also fought 70lbs above Roys best fighting weight, so he wasn't a dead body in there. There was a reason no MW had captured a HW belt in over 100yrs and thats because its hard to do. Roy then drained himself and still beat the best LHW in the world, Id say he's not too bad.
Also Robinson, Ali, SRL, Hearns, Hagler weren't undefeated fighters either I dont need to look at how many losses a fighter has to see how good they are.
