I have the utmost respect for JCC. Him and Mike Tyson were my boxing heroes when I was a kid. But c'mon, when you say it was gonna be your last fight, please do it so like a man. If I was there last night, I can always say to myself "I was there when one of the greatest fighter of all time fought his last fight." But if he fights again, it's like robbing the fans that showed up last night. What's next, Adios II, III, IV...IX, etc.

WTF is up with Robinson last night, it's good to show some kind of respect for JCC, but he's been hugging and kissing Chavez as if he wanted to have sex w/ him, ****in fanuch.

I Want to See Chavez in Texas

I thought the fight was pretty good, and I look forward to seeing him fight in Texas since I've never been to one of his fights before. It's great because I'll get to see both Julio Jr. and Omarcito also, although they probably won't have Junior against a decent opponent on that card either so his dad won't have to worry about that before his fight. By the way, was anyone there and saw Omarcito fight last night? I haven't heard anyone mention it.

            Chavez on PPV

The fight has to be PPV. I don't think anyone else will show it. Aside of just being for really big fights, pay-per-views can also be for those fights that not as many people want to see, so that they can choose to watch it themselves. Besides, if they showed it on regular tv, then they'd only show a couple of fights from the card, and that would be a real disappointment because I know there'll be a lot of other great fighters on there.

True, it shouldn't be promoted as a person's last fight if it isn't, but if you even really like the guy you're not going to be pissed because it isn't really his last fight.

And dogtown, I don't wish to pick a fight with you, but cut the bull****. First you said you wanted Chavez to get knocked out so you wouldn't have to see him again, then you get defensive when someone jumps on you for it. You knew when you posted it that people would get mad, as that was obviously the response you wanted.

I'd be all for Chavez fighting again, just not on PPV. Chavez's biggest fans are obviously mexicans who aren't very high on the socio-economic ladder. It isn't right for predominantly lower-middleclass or less fans to have to pay to watch their country's biggest hero.
Thats a messed up thing to say. I was at the Staples Center, and the Hispanic fans filled up all the seats. I was sitting in the $200 seat area, and I also bought 3 extra Seats for family. Everyone around me was what you would call lower-class to middle-class mexicans. Watch what you say, Your stereotype of who are Chavez fans are is wrong. Chavez had his greatest years between 1987-1992, his younger hispanic fans back then are very well off today, hence the 18,000 tickets sold at the Staples center.

As far as the fight being on PPV, most mexican communities get together and have big party, they all pitch in and watch the fight.

He needs to develop some man strength and a little more of a style. The only way he can do this is by working against some opponents that are not yet "contenders" He is on a different carrer path than say a Vargas who was an olympian with a vast amateur experience thus a World Titlist by 21. If you don't agree that Chavez should be fighting, don't buy his PPV and there you go.
I agree JCC Jr. should be in no rush to start fighting higher ranked contenders in this point of his career. The kid is only 19 years old, looks like he is 15, and has alot to learn before moving up in the ranks...
