I too think weight is overrated, unless it's 15-20lbs. difference...I don't think it's that noticeable.

One thing I hate though is when a fighter starts his career at a weight unnatural for him. I hate it when you have a guy who weighs 154 naturally and based on his height is good for the weight, but talks about wanting to get down to 130...There's nothing I hate more than that.

I think wieght is greatly overrated, especially when a guy moves up in wieght to take some one on, then looses. Take the Trinidad vs Mayorga fight as example. Tito ****ed Mayorga up but people we trying not to give Tito credit for the win because Mayo isnt a natural middleweight. Who gives a ****? They guys are pretty much the same size and wieighed the same when they fought. People act like they guy couldnt punch anymore just because he didnt KO Tito. ****ing rediculous.

True, well in my friends case it is, he's a pro and walks around at around 155, but has fought for titles at 130, non title he's usually 137 - 139, he says he gets down to around 142 -144 quite well but after that he starts to struggle, dry out, he says it drains your power and punch resistance drastically cos killing yourself to make the weight takes everything out of you, and he does hit hard in the gym but he has few stoppages, It seems once you go past your 'natural healthy' low weight then it's all bad from then on, and the more weight to drop the worst.
He is in good shape too at around 150 so he's not dropping **** either

Yes. Yes, he did come in that heavy. He was 143 pounds of small welterweight. Small and sluggish.

(I'm talking about Erik Morales here. Guess I reply instead of quote by accident.)

Why doesn't he fight at a higher weight? One what is easy to make.

Endurance and stamina are far more important.

Heavyweights often fight with 20+lbs weight difference (sometimes 50lbs+), and not much is made of it.

I can totally relate to that, when I was 117 I was really hard in the stomach but I had felt really drained and weak...Im back up to around 122 and I am a bit softer in the midsection, but I feel a lot better and hit harder...
