It's all about the utilization of the jab. Dimitrenko has a longer reach than Wlad, but he has no jab. He let Chambers get in there all night long. Dimetrenko fought with a guard like Clottey uses. If his trainer had any talent, he would have corrected that **** years ago.Comment

A similar thing came up the other day, here was part of what i wrote which pertains to this discussion along with a fellow poster,
"The higher you go the less it means, yes. Now at HW diminishing returns comes into effect as the poster underneath mentioned.
My remark about increase in weight pertained to HW's putting on size if it didn't suit them like
Chambers at 230 vs Chambers at 210
Adamek at 205 vs Adamek at 220
If they don't have the frame to carry the weight it's detremental to their speed which takes away from punching power and their conditioning.
The ideal size for HW's, especially punching power, is around 190-220 when looking at history.
Dempsey
Louis
Marciano
Ali
Frazier
Foreman
Tyson
Shavers
Those are some of the hardest punchers in the history of the division and all fall into that general range.
Klitschko Lewis Bowe are exeptions to the rule who are heavier than that but retain their hanspeed & power and are naturally coordinated and exceptionally gifted
Guys like:
Buddy Baer
Ernie Terrell
Ustinov
Dimitrenko
Valuev
are big but not athletic and coordinated enough. Exeptions to the rule on the other end of the spectrum are Bob Fitz and Stanley Ketchel in terms of punching power.
My point was that punching power doesn't equal weight, aside from a few exeptions like Klitschko, and that size alone doesn't mean much without being exeptionally skilled. (Dimitrenko Chambers)
Your bitching about guys not being in Klitschko's weight range doesn't mean anything (Thompson, Mccline, Jefferson) What you're asking for is a SHW like Lennox for him to fight against which is foolish since not even half a dozen have ever graced the top of the pro ranks in the history of boxing, it's like asking for a unicorn."it's called diminishing returns dumbass. at a certain point weight starts to become more of a burden and not an advantage due to the hinderances that it puts on human mobility and stamina. i.e. humans simply not being built for certain weights over 200 to maximize their speed/efficiency/stamina. this is why heavyweight is a free for all because in heavyweight class, being 240lbs is not necessarily an advantage over a 215lbs guy just look at Tyson KTFO'ing everything in his path even guys that outweigh him by 50-100lbsComment

I don't think the answer to beating the Klitschkos is being bigger than they are. A fast, smaller guy that has great movement and is able to get inside and land will give either of them fits. A slow, plodding Valuev or a big, lanky fighter like Dimitrenko will be no trouble for neither Wlad nor Vitali.Comment
