Robert Helenius (11-0) - Gbenga Oloukun (17-3) this Friday

Robert Helenius, who stopped Lamon Brewster on Jan 30, will be in action in Finland this Friday March 26 against another young, up-and-coming heavyweight: Gbenga Oloukun.

Helenius is also scheduled to fight on May 1st on the same card as Huck-Minto.

Sauerland is doing a good job of keeping their young heavyweights active against decent opposition. Kubrat Pulev is scheduled for his fourth fight of 2010 on May 1, against Oleg Platov.

Oloukun beat Lemon, but I think easy fight for Helenius who rocked Lemon which impressed me a lot!

idk but if Kubrat Pulev beats Oleg Platov, it will be idk this man is sick ...look at this record... beating solid opponents in his very first fights...

      Yes.

Some people whine and ***** about the heavyweight division, but there are plenty of talented up-and-comers like Boytsov, Glazkov, Gerber, Price, Pulev and Helenius in Europe!

Knew this was happening but had no idea it was this friday, can't wait. Gbenga is a solid HW but i'm honestly expecting Helenius to get the stoppage.

He did drop Lamon (2:05) and if it weren't for the ropes keeping him as he went stumbling back he would have had 2 KD's (4:43)

I really hope Platov gets his act together. He's still young (26) is tough, has a massive punch, is exciting and aggressive as they come although he's not exactly polished. If he could just be more consistant and take his career seriously i really think he could compete with most guys in the top 10 atm.

I'm very impressed with Helenius so far.

KO wins over Gammer, *****ko and Brewster are very good considering he's only had 11 fights.

Helenius had the highest KO ratio among amateur super heavyweights in recent years. He lost some decisions, but defeated many top amateurs by knocking them out.

Just watched that Brewster fight and was impressed. He certainly knew how to stay tall and it's always nice to see a big man like that go downstairs a bit. Physically he is not much to look at, did I hear in the commentary the German's comparing his physical appearence to Kelly Pavlik, haha.

How is Boystov doing? I think we need a bit of a change from this technically sound, tall, upright types. LIke the bulk of the Eastern european prospects and Price.

I like Price but I don't think he's been blessed with a chin that will even be good enough to dominate the British circuit.

Denis Boytsov is probably the best young European heavyweight, but he has the worst promoter in Kohl (Universum) who often treats his Russian fighters poorly, while giving opportunities to mediocre German boxers like Sebastian Zbik.

That highlight of the Brewster-Helenius fight was the second worst highlight i ever seen. They cut every few seconds, you get no feeling at all for how the fight was Thanks for posting anyway, much better then nothing.
