Following the extensive hometown advantages allowed for american André Ward, it was believed by most, that the practice of home-town referees and judges was to be a thing of the past given the tourneys international flavour.
Not so.
According to BILD Andre Direll's promotor Gary Shaw has, like his US compatriot Joe Goosen, made arrangements so that both the referee and one of the judges is from Direll's homestate of Michigan. One of the other judges is the mexican who had Direll as winner in his close encounter with Carl Froch in Nottingham.
The final judge is Gino Cavalleri. Both sides agree on him.

Judges and referees is to be pointed out by the local athletic commision. However there must be one judge from each of the participants homecountry and the third judge must be neutral.
The referee must always be from a neutral country.
