Ruiz being the first latino (Puerto Rican) heavyweight champion was a big deal in the hispanic community but Ruiz isnt all that good so not alot of people cared. he's from boston 2 i think or somewhere in Mass. im a new yorker & i dont **** with people from that side even if you are a Rican.Comment

the more and more I think about this fight the more and more I like Jawnny to win by a right hand KO. If Ruiz has anything left he can be sneaky when he wasn't manhugging his opponent. Haye's chin seems to betray him at times so that could spell disasterComment

i remember the first time i bet against haye, i picked maccarinelli in their cruiser weight show down even though i had seen haye down in his previous fight on his arse but get back up to stop mormeck....my worries on hayes chin have always been there but ive seen him hit the canvas and get back up a few times now that whilst it still worries me i know he wants the fight, if he's caught with a peach then like most he' going to wobble, thats just how it is.....the one thing that haye does have is blinding power that stops them even when the shots arent clean....so when i weigh up his chin vs his power i tend to side with his punching power
i wouldnt be shocked if i saw haye loose this fight but i must say i wouldnt be suprised either if he blasted ruiz and stopped him...thats what make this one to watchComment

From what I hear Ruiz has been working like a madman for this fight while Haye has been taking it very casually, not even bothering to trash talk. I think Manny Steward may be right: Haye has no interest in a Klitschko (or a Chagaev, or a Tua, or another Valuev) fight. Haye is basically a lazy mofo with a motor mouth. If Ruiz whips him, Haye can sit back and relax for a good long time while Vitali ends his career against someone like a resurgent Tua.Comment

Haye has blinding power? I believe Haye's power is overrated. He stopped Mermeck with a combination of punches and it took nine rounds, in which he was battered, to stop an old Fragomeni. And I believe that the Italian was still on his feet when the fight was stopped. The only world class fighter I have seen Haye actually destroy was Big Macc. And it is real debatable on just how world class Macc's jaw was. And all those fights were at cruiserweight. So, it is my opinion that it is still an unanswered question on just how much power Haye brings to the heavyweight division. Because bouncing Barrett off the canvas four or five times proves little. Since that has been a pretty common occurrence in Monte's career even against fighters that were not known for their power.Comment
