Oscar would have been KOed to the chin later regardless. He was taking a beating from the mid rounds on.

he took a heavy beating anyways. why would would someone stage getting his ass kicked then quitting vs a fighter who came up 2 weight classes?

          that makes no sense whatsoever.

145lb and the rest you said makes no sense. You're still cool in my book.

if it hit any organs it would be a glancing shot on the kidney, but i doubt that happened.

                  1. Real body shot.

                  2. Anyone who has followed De La Hoya's career knows that he is one proud man and for no amount of money would he throw a fight where he could be Undisputed Middleweight Champion of the World.

That's where it landed, under the right rib cage.

I never understood how people even thought it was a dive, because Oscar went down from a body punch? Oscar went in the early rounds and traded with Hopkins, if he was going to take a dive he would have moved around and waited for a punch to land to take a dive. You don't go in and try to take his head off first and then go down.

Like a middleweight can't stop a welterweight with a bodypunch. LOL
