Comments Thread For: Beard: Funeka Rematch is Make or Break For Guzman

Manchester has been caught up in Guzmania for the past three weeks as Dominica’s Joan Guzman prepared for his crucial crunch rematch with South Africa’s Ali Funeka in Las Vegas this Saturday night. Guzman recently hooked up with Lee Beard; the Denton-based trainer brought Guzman over here in order to fine tune preparations ahead of the vacant IBF lightweight title fight. Beard, who has brought Kerry Kayes onboard to manage Joan’s notorious weight problems, believes that the change of scenery and training pattern has rejuvenated Guzman. [Click Here To Read More]

Indeed at age 33 this is it for Guzman if he intends to fullfill his potential(or anything close to it).

From what I've read he is having a good camp and he definetely needed a change of corner after Don House did a pretty lousy job in the first fight.
Like Beard said Guzman can improve,Funeka does the same thing all the time.

Lee Beard....guess what....this fight is make or break for YOU!!! You're the one who is partly responsible for Ricky Hatton's preparation for Pacquiao!!! If you didn't interfere maybe Ricky would've lasted a few more rounds and maybe won a couple too!! But instead, Ricky went balls to the wall from the opening bell and BAM...went to sleep!!!

Guzman's performance is MAKE OR BREAK for you, Beard!!!

talent wise Guzman is the truth so if he in condition he will win this fight and changing of the guard is a plus....people think Guzman is 33 year old he is 31 year old he lied about his age to enter a boxing tournament in dominican republic and had to stay with that age which it is common down there same thing that young baseball guy from the bronx did but he got caught in new york by the yankee staff

I dont know if Beard is the right on to polish out a elite game plan for Guzman to beat Funeka but I guess we will see. Guzman has the skills to get him and I hope he does.

This will be good, we'll see if Guzman can make the right adjustment. Funeka is an excellent fighter.

I got bets on Ali. I reckon he's gonna be pissed off and refuse to lose.
