Mayweather vs ACTIVE Cory Spinks at 154lbs

This is a fight that Floyd was very interested in taking in November 2006 after Mosley declined and and the Margo and Cotto fights were unable to happen after he left Top Rank, but it received lots of criticism and for some odd reason the public preferred the Baldomir fight (this was before Floyd had a lot of haters, so not as many people saw through Baldomir's hype and they actually thought he was good LOL).

Who would you have picked to win? This is the same Spinks that arguably beat a prime Jermain Taylor. If Floyd beat him then his JMW resume would be pretty strong, and that could partially make up for his WW resume being so weak.

At that point Spinks was still very good and that fight would have been very interesting. Spinks wasn't smoked up then and was a beast himself.

I agree Spinks won a very close fight with Taylor imo.

It would have been an interesting fight, most people thought the fight would have ****** but I think Floyd would have played the aggressor and done a much better job getting at Spinks than Taylor did and it probably would have been a lot better than the Boldomir fight. Spinks would have probably been more brave also since he would be fighting a smaller guy.

I think Floyd would have beaten Spinks though using right hands and working Spinks whenever he got inside both to the head and body.

Quite possibly the most boring fight in the history of Boxing.

Probably not because Floyd should be able to make Spinks actually fight so right there it would instantly be better than Taylor-Spinks and it would not be overly sloppy so it would be better than Frietas-Raheem. Spinks also knows how to handle himself in the ring so he can probably make it more competitive then the Baldomir fight which would most likely make it a much better fight.

You should actually think about how they would try to fight each other before answering~.

floyd is a better boxer faster and had better defense. and was always in better shape.
spinx was good but had many more flaws as floyd and relied on one style thats stick and move. floyd would adjust and beat spinx

I did, hence why I believe it would be a very boring fight. Neither guy likes to be the enforcer so you'd have rounds where both are just being real careful with one guy landing a shot and the other landing a shot, but never actually being aggressive to make it a fight. I've seen enough fights with Spinks to know you're not going to get an exciting fight. At least Floyd will make it somewhat entertaining prior to the bell ringing (and I don't mean Floyd would fight a terrible fight either, just very lackluster).
