is this a weak heavyweight division?

I've been criticized because I think the heavyweight division is weak and the Klitschko brothers are too good, but the critics say the other contenders are "deceivingly good".

If the other contenders are really good as some people claim and are deceivingly good, than check out the top 25 HW's. Do you honestly think any of them realistically have a chance against the Klitschko brothers. I mean this is the best the HW division has to offer to compete against the Klitschko's.

It is weak. Don't blame the Klits for that though. Everyone who faces them gets stomped.

Chambers is a legit contender he was just too small, Povetkin is a legit contender but his style all wrong for the Klitschko's too. Denis Boystov is still a prospect, Tomasz Adamek is a good solid heavyweight, but like Chambers he is also a small heavyweight.

its an unique era - two brothers have dominated the division.

I posted this in another thread. these are the top guys currently and of the last few years while the Klitschko's have been largely in control.

            Ibragimov
            Chagaev
            Haye
            Peter
            Valuev
            Boytsov
            Povetkin
            Adamek
            Chambers
            Arreola
            Thompson
            Brock
            Gomez
            Byrd
            Lyakhovich
            Brewster
            Pulev
            Helenius

All very soild HW's. If K2 weren't around all the others would be neck and neck and people would not be talking about a lack of depth, true story.

good thread...i think its an urban myth this is a weak era. I think its the fact that manny steward has trained them so well to the point of pacquio invinciblity..

You have to be kidding me? Brock isn't solid, he's a C level boxer at best, and so is Peter. Chagaev although started off well, his career and his skills took a nosedive because he was so inactive. Gomez was past his prime and looked like garbage once he moved up to heavyweight. I can go on and on but most of those boxers do not fight to their potential or have championship level skills. If they were as good as you claim, than they would at least be competitive against the Klitschko's. Arreola was a disgrace against Vitali.

Byrd is good, but he had litter power in his punches.

chambers is a bum....im sorry he had to much hype on him......... and when the fight came he did like ever klit opponet did, stand still in front of him and get eaten by those jabs........... and another thing was his disgraceful wrestling moves on wlad, picking him up and slamming him... sorry this is not MMA......
that angered Wlad alot came that right hand second round.... and brutal left hook 12th round that put chambers down...... steward said it was one of the hardest punch he has ever seen.

chambers is not a heavyweight contender, he should move down to CW.....

Byrd is good, but he is clearly feather fisted.
                    No actually.

Lyakhovich is very skilled but inactive due to King and inconsistant

Thompson is maybe debatable but still good imo.

Gomez is past prime but still a good HW

Brock was a good HW when Klitschko fought him

Everyone on that list is a legit top 10 HW in any era, aside from maybe a couple of the above named guys in the 70's

The guy above me calling Chambers a bum is a ***ing idiot.
