I think when fighters want to retire they are free to do so. They are the ones taking the beating. They are the ones taking the punishment, not me. I dont feel fighters owe me or the fans much of anything that they havent already given us.

However if manny were to retire in light of refusing randomized blood testing, that would do nothing but cast a huge cloud of su****ion over his reign.

No No No...What I've said from day 1 is Floyd is an opportunist. He saw no money in fighting Cotto though he was the #1 ranked WW in the world. If he had stayed the demand for a Cotto vs Mayweather fight from the Boxing community would've been huge, but it wouldn't have surfaced to the mainstream, hence why Cotto beating Margarito and then De La Hoya would've put him in the driver's seat.

I'm not one of these kids calling Floyd a ducker or anything because that's on him if he doesn't want to fight the best fighters regardless if they bring huge money or decent money. Floyd wants the biggest change, but that doesn't always equate to fighting the best which Floyd's been criticized heavily in the later part of his career.

Don't confuse me for these Cotto nuthuggers, I like the dude but I don't obsess over him like some people do with other fighters as if they personally know them.

Difference is that Pac would have a very good reason to retire. His chance of retirement is strictly how his run for congress goes. If he win, there are a 75% chance he will retire. If he lose, he is not retiring. And his chance of winning is not that great.

good thing PAC has less than 25% chance to win the election after hinting on retiring if he won the seat ...

Fact is, Pacquiao got a challenge from a top dog. Pacquiao didn't like the contracts. Fight is off and before they can come back to the table, Pacquiao is talking about retiring because "his mom doesn't like to see him get hurt". Where the hell was this talk when Pacquiao's face was being cut up in the super feather division?
Actually his mom was begging him to retire since JMM II. Come to think of it, after every victory his mom would beg him to retire.

Pac's mom probably doesn't know the calibre of Mayweather, to her, everybody who faced Pac is as dangerous as the next one, hence the persistent call for retirement.

I hope he doesn't hang 'em up without fighting FMJ.

Difference is that Pac has fought A LOT of guys people wanted him too, AND he is actually doing something constructive and purposeful if he retires, its not like he's gonna go clubbin, count his money and hang with wannabe thug rappers.......gtfoh w/ ur bs
