Lee Groves don't know anything about boxing
The Klitschoes would have beaten , Ali, Tyson, Marciano, foreman and all the HW idols of the americans the same night. Why criticize his strategy of defense first? Isn't this what Mayweather does and his considered by the americans the best pfp? But there is a difference, the klitschoes defends against the 1st contenders while .....we all know about the overrated mayweather.

lol Ali is not in the same league with boxers like Ibgramiov, Chambers, Peter, Brock, or Thompson. He's like 4X better then those boxers and so is Tyson. Wladimir can beat the heavyweights today because there skill level isn't championship caliber, well Chambers does have high level skills, but he just doesn't have the size.Comment

You have a right to your opinion about my boxing knowledge, but I think there are those who might disagree.
Anyway, I do think that the Klitschkos' size and knowledge of how to fight a big man's fight would present considerable problems for anyone, even the great ones. Height, reach and athleticism are everything in boxing and the K Guys have all three. They won't be appreciated because of the way they go about their business, but they will be respected because of the final results. Europeans love the Klitschkos because they love the bottom line. Americans don't because they want to see fireworks along with the bottom line. Nothing wrong with either approach...just different.

plenty of boring safety-first fighters enjoy the love of the american public, as long as they are american
dont give us that crap about you guys liking unpredictability and excitement; because EVERYONE DOES
klitschko's boring, but so are hopkins or mayweather
and last but not least: who cares if the american like klitschko or not? have you ever wondered if the spanish like roy jones? or if the ukranians like eddie chambers?

I don't understand, I get the impression that americans like the safety first flash boxing approach, I think our brits like hatton and froch and mitchell etc aswell as the benns coopers all came with fireworks, I thought you guys liked hit and not get hit, mayweathers and hopkins and dirrell(who run off istead of meeting froch for a firework display?)
Yep agree with your diagnosis on the two klits, you have to admire them really they are class acts, I prefer vitali to wlad, although they would have done well against greats, they would not have been dominant like today in my opinion!
oh and martin 1995 does not know anything about boxing from the looks of it!Comment

Everyone has their tastes...I often heard from commentators on both sides of the Atlantic that British judges and fans prefer and appreciate neat boxing more while American fans and judges like aggressors, no matter whether they were effective or not. With the globalization of the game, however, we now see aggressive Europeans and scientific Mexicans, so maybe the old stereotypes aren't as accurate as they used to be.Comment

I think the Klitschkos had a chance to be loved by the U.S. public -- and there was a time they succeeded. I remember the rapturous reception Vitali got from the L.A. fans after his brave fight with Lewis and Wladimir was thought to be the better of the two siblings with his superior fluidity and technique. Of the two, I think Vitali is held in higher esteem over here simply because he gives off the air of being tougher and destruction-minded.
As far as who loves whom, I don't think the Klitschkos care so much about that. They are the ones in the ring doing what they do and they'll probably tell us that if we were tall and athletic like they are we'd use the tools in exactly the same way. It works for them and good for them. But fans also have a right not to like it so much. After all, they do pay the freight.
I tend to appreciate the skills of those who do things well, and both brothers are worthy of that. They are winners, both in life and inside the ring.Comment
