  • Why does Floyd keep bringing up RACE?

Seriously why does he keep doing it?

First when he was fighting marquez he was complaining about why he doesnt get enough support from the black community in an interview with a hip hop magazine & how marquez & pacquiao enjoy full support of their people.

Then wit the rugged man interview he claims the philippines makes the best PEDS.

Then on joe buck live he asks the troops to support him because he's american.

Then he compares his drug crusade without any evidence against pacquiao as comparable to what Martin Luther King & Malcolm X did.

Then he makes comments about how pacquiao is not american & he should not be trusted.

Now with this face off video on hbo with shane he brings up the racial component again:

    MEMO TO FLOYD:

Its 2010. Not 1950. Stop trying to be Ali. Stop race baiting in ORDER TO GET MORE PPV BUYS. Its utterly shameless.

Yet watch the floyd fan boys defend this recent remark.

    Watch.

Why does Floyd Mayweather Jr continuously make boxing about one’s race? During a 10 minute segment of HBO’s Face Off with Max Kellerman, Floyd Mayweather Jr once again brought up a fighter’s race to further his point. This time, Mayweather brought up Mosley being a “Black American”. Let’s examine further.

“I’m happy for him. He’s a black American, and I’m a black American. I rooted him on. I wanted to see him win.” FMJ, HBO Face-Off with Max Kellerman

I don’t have a problem if Floyd roots for another individual of his same race or ethnicity. The problem is that Floyd discriminates against other races and ethnicities like Filipinos.

“We got athletes that live in our own country that lie to the American citizens about taking certain enhancement drugs. Now, Manny Pacquiao is not even from this country and don’t even live in this country so imagine what he will tell the American people.” Floyd Mayweather Jr Allhiphop.com

Floyd insinuates that Manny and other foreign athletes are cheaters and liars because they aren’t from America. This is in addition to other discriminating remarks that Floyd and his family have made toward Manny and the Filipino culture. Let’s also not forget that Floyd refused to acknowledge two Filipino reporters at the Los Angels press-con a few weeks ago.

Why does there need to be any race involved when talking about another boxer? Why couldn’t Floyd just say “yeah I saw he beat the crap out of Margarito. It was a good fight.” Instead he has to go on about how he rooted for Mosley because he’s a “Black American”.

Floyd wants Olympic style blood testing in boxing but he refuses to acknowledge some key principles of the Olympics:

    * It’s all about fair competition no matter the race, ethnicity, or gender.
    * It’s all about respect, honor, and integrity.

Floyd should know these principles but he acts like they don’t exist.

    Conclusion

Stephanie Crane Sacramento, CA “Why’s it ok for Floyd to keep making racial remarks?”

It’s not ok; it’s just not being addressed by most of the mainstream media. If a white boxer said that he rooted for another white boxer because he was a “white American”, there would be uproar from communities and mainstream media. The double standard in this country makes me sick.

Now before I get mass emails saying that I’m a racist, a skin head, on steroids, and such; I probably have more ethnicities and races in my immediate family than most people. However, my point to all of this is that I don’t think racial remarks should be a part of Sports. You don’t hear about race in the Olympics and they are considered the ultimate sporting event. Why can’t we have this human decency in all professional sports? If Floyd wants to start cleaning up boxing then start by getting rid of the racism.

So he says Americans lie, and so can foreigners. So? what a horrible spin by the writer.

The white peoples brought this on themselves. They're the ones that went around scalping and lynching mother effers and pushing people out of their land. Don't expect **** that happened for hundreds of years to all of a sudden disappear over a handful of decades. Over those hundreds of years white folks set themselves up to prosper even if it meant sacrificing other races' success, or using other races to their advantage. Most ********** were never fed with silver spoons, they don't know how to relate to the majority of white people. The people that do make it, like Floyd, were still brought up under different circumstances. Why is it so bad that he wants people from his race, people that he can relate to, to succeed?

I think there's jealousy amongst white people that they can't go around and make the same remarks that ********** can on a mass scale. I think it has to do a lot with the communication era. Now that the whole world is able to see what you're doing, you gotta put your foot in your mouth or expect tons of backlash. If America was openly racist like it was before, it would not play well with the rest of the world.

But I think the overall reason ********** can get away with it is because they're the ones that got ****ed over. They're the ones that got put in a tough spot to begin with. What do white people have to complain about? They're the ones that have been doing the ****ing. If anyone's ****ed a white person over, it was most likely another white person. If white people say anything racist, it's because they ARE racist. Simple as that.

Anyway, I think what Floyd said about Pacquiao was probably to sell more tickets. If he can alienate a nation, you bet your sweet ass that they're gonna pay to watch their boy whoop his ass.

I'm sure I'll get chewed out for my post but whatever...
