Comments Thread For: Gamboa-Barros: Yuriorkis Ready For Germany Scrap

In February 2007 Olympic gold medallist Yuriorkis Gamboa had arrived in Hamburg for the first time after defecting from the Cuban national team along with team-mates Odlanier Solis and Yan Barthelemy. Three years and 17 pro-fights later the WBA featherweight champion made his return to Germany yesterday to defend his world title against unbeaten Jonathan Victor Barros next week (Saturday, March 27th) at Sporthalle Hamburg. Great undercard! Like many others, I enjoy watching and reading up on Gamboa as much as I can. With the likes of Manny, Floyd and Shane; who have helped bring the sport/art of boxing back into so many homes for the last 4-5 years, down to their last 3 or 4 career fights. I see Gamboa as one of the next great fighters who will be looked pone to carry this sport to the next level. Does anyone know how this card can be seen either live or on delay in the U.S. next week?

I want to see Juan Ma Lopez get sparked by Gamboa. But it probably won't happen because Lopez will get the shot at the Vasquez-Marquez winner after the Concepcion fight. Arum wants to milk another Mexican-Puerto Rican rivalry.

Gamboa made a statement with Mtagwa, Lopez will avoid Gamboa for a while. Maybe he'll take the Pac route and fight him after loses.

There's an official live stream by German network Sat.1, maybe that will work in the States as well.
I can't post urls, type in "Ran"+"Sat.1" on Google. Coverage begins at 5:20 p.m. EDT this Saturday.

lopez will not face gamboa,he will avoid him the way he's avoided caballero..he will call out the shot, beat up fighters (winner) in the marquez/vazquez fight and think he's the best after beating one of those shot fighters instead of a young, fresher, stronger guy in gamboa, after he beats vazquez or marquez,he'll say gamboa is a nobody and needs to fight somebody, that he's a "zero"

The funny thing is, PRs will eat it up and agree with Lopez that Gamboa isn't a draw and needs to get recognition, but the ironic part is these are the same Ricans that were BITCHING and MOANING when Floyd didn't fight Cotto, so its ok for Juanma to do it but not Floyd...
