No, I'm not talking about proper English or correct English, even. Muhammed Ali wasn't the best, in terms of his vocabulary or what have you. But, he was confident. He didn't stutter, or stammer. He was precise, joyful, confident, original and he was calm. The most important being calm. Floyd always seems to have his eyes wandering, as if he's worried. I'm not trying to bag on the guy. He's still a GREAT fighter. This has nothing to do with that.

His **** talking abilities just don't impress me.

his stuttering has nothing to do with his calmness or confidence. he stutters because its a speech impediment. he cant help it. that much has been clear for some time. the guy is usually very cnfident but yet he still stutters, i mean he stutters after he shuts ppl out in fights, that tells u he cant help it.

and his **** talking must be high level since many of you claim thats why ppl want to see him fight so that he is beat. i mean it cant possibly be to see him fight a boring fight, right???which one is it??

but how do you call a guy arrogant if he supposedly isnt confident when he speaks??? see its all circular logic my friend. floyd talks **** to sell fights and if ppl don't think hes good at it, then they just refuse to give the guy credit for anything.

I've never said his fights were boring. I also, never said that his stutter was something he could help. I ALSO never said that he wasn't confident because he stutters. He's not confident for body language and the way he relays the message, not because of his stutter. I simply said that his stutter makes it difficult for him to talk **** well. It's like anything else that involves your verbal skills. Jim Lampley, solid commentator. If he stutters, he'd still know how to commentate, what to call, how to call it. But he couldn't. He'd suck at that job, in that sense. It's unfortunate, but it's the case.

Mayweather is the same in that sense. BUT, he's not great on the mic for the other reasons I mentioned.

He isn't calm. He shifts around a lot, his eyes wander, darting back and forth. He seems stiff. His voice shakes. He still uses cliches that are played out. He still repeats himself.

He's still not a good **** talker. You can still be arrogant and not be a solid talker. Fans could still tune in to watch him lose because he's arrogant in their minds.

I for one, tune in to watch a masterful boxer. I couldn't care less how well he talks **** when fight night comes.

Actually, arrogance often time comes from a lack of confidence.

Confidence: full trust; belief in the powers, trustworthiness, or reliability of a person or thing

Arrogance: offensive display of superiority or self-importance; overbearing pride.

Those are not the same thing. Regardless, I don't think that Mayweather lacks confidence. I think he comes across that way when he tries to talk ****. Because I don't think he's confident in his abilities to talk ****. Might be a good sign. He might not be as comfortable with the role that he plays as the bad guy as he tries to play off. That could be a positive sign.
