    Is "Olympic"-Style Testing for show?

I mean, they go around promoting it. When people hear "Olympic", they think elite athletes....

Plus, why doesn't HBO force it's fighters to do the same thing as ARD in Germany?

OST is for sissies who are afraid of getting hurt. I'd bet Pretty Boy don't give **** about Mosley taking a test or not.

No offense, but if you think it's just for show then you're not really thinking analytically. There are a few reasons why this and only this fight have enlisted WADA and the USADA testing standards.

HBO could do it, but I don't think HBO wants to lose out on some fights that it might otherwise get because of this.

James Toney and Fernando Vargas tested positive in fights that HBO televised. I'm pretty sure that there were others who used and didn't get caught. Then you have the Top Rank and Team Pacquiao stance that they don't want to be treated like "criminals." I doubt they're the only people in boxing who'd at least resist this.

I don't think HBO wants to fight that fight, at least not now. The network has enough trouble putting together decent fights without adding something else some fighters won't want. But it's not all just a show. It's good for boxing, but it's just like in other sports. Some athletes will resist and with the regulatory state of boxing being so disjointed it'd be hard for anyone to genuinely enforce any punitive measures levied by WADA or the USADA.

So, I think HBO is going to wait and see what comes of this and if it is successful then they'll probably jump on board. But for now they're steering clear because they don't want to be seen as taking sides on this issue.

Why did you have no complaints about the Pac-Clottey testing?
