    Marcos Maidana discussion

I've just logged on about half an hour ago and have seen some rather scathing remarks on Marcos Maidana. Although I feel he is a tad unproven, I don't think he is as overrated as a lot would think. He reminds me of a Ricardo Torres tyoe fighter with the heart that Ricardo lacked. He has a never give up attitude and leaves it all in the ring when all is said and done. In an era of boxing where fans and writers alike dog the majority for not making fan friendly fights with fan friendly fighters/styles, Marcos is one of the minority. I feel he should be getting a bit more love. Just my opinion. Your thoughts?

I think he's great to watch, the resume is weak at this point. I also think he's a bit mismanaged, his fight was Ortiz was great, then nothing (I think he goes back to Argentina for his next fight?). Great to watch, wished he would of pushed Khan harder, he would of broken Glass Jaw Joe down pretty hard IMHO.

Maidana is a very entertaining fighter. I wish he had better boxing skills to add to his intangeables then he would last and be destined for the top. I feel he would either KO Khan or lose on points and should have not sold out and enforced his mandatory rights. I would like to him get propper coaching and sort out his technique but regardless of that he is great to watch.

I criticize him because his boxing skills are about 10% of Margarito's, and people always talk about how he'll shatter Khan's chin, but don't realize that he doesn't have the best chin himself. I also don't like how he declined the Timothy Bradley fight (but then again, who didn't). That would have been a perfect opportunity for both. We'd see how Bradley would do against a great puncher and how Maidana would do against a great boxer.

But I will admit, his fights are very entertaining.
