When Valero said that he was moving up to the light welterweight division, this was the first matchup that came to mind. Both fighters have a combined record of 54-1. Of those 54 wins, 53 have been won by knockout. Just that stat line alone would be enough to sell this fight. If it ever does happen, I'm going with Maidana by KO in 7. After seeing Maidana throw those right handed bombs on Victor Ortiz, I was sold on this guy. I think Valero would get knocked out cold.

I like Valero here, but I'm saying this because I haven't seen enough of Maidana to be convinced that he can withstand the bombs from Valero. I think they are both untested but Valero has an edge in experience and competition.

This is an absolute effing WAR if it ever happened.
