        They were mandatories but they were not top contenders, especially not Lockett, who was ranked #50 by boxrec at the time and wasn't rated higher than that in any independent rankings.

        If you call it cherry picking to fight two men in a row whom most reputable independent rankings have among the top 3 contenders then you simply don't know what "cherry picking" means. What's he supposed to do - retire because there aren't any real threats available for him to fight? He's fighting the best opposition available to him, (given that two brothers can't be expected to fight each other for money), which is the exact opposite of cherry picking.
