Ali vs Patterson I, 1965 on ESPN Classic

Ali kind of a jabbing whore going into rd 3. Constantly walking backwards and throwing a single jab every couple seconds. Hardly any action. Then when Patterson gets inside and throws a combo Ali ties him up. Boxing so boring back then. And you people complain about Ruiz? This fight as boring as Winky-Tito!

Bro, they're also showing Liston/Martin from 69. Great fight, Martin KO's Liston who had a commanding lead late in the fight, after the twelfth.(not sure what round it was)

It's a trip to see Martin, a Philly fighter upsetting a former champ ... during my own life I only witnessed him as a sorta journeyman who was getting his ass handed to him by everyone else.

Patterson had a ****ed up back for that fight ... it's questionable if it should have ever taken place imo. The funny thing is watching Ali who was a relative giant in there moving like a ballerina while little Patterson was "stalking" him in hopes of a KO. The dancing bear was tagging the **** outta him while countering Floyd's leaping hooks.

How can someone even dare compare Ruiz to any Ali fight. Ali would have touched ruiz up something ferocious in the ring...Ruiz is garbage, you can tell by the way he got whopped my two former middleweights, not 1 but 2...Ruiz is weak. I can't wait until he steps in the ring with any of the other champs and gets whopped on again...

I didn't get to watch the final 4 rds of that fight. I assume Ali won, so why was there a rematch and who won that? Seems to me Ali was winning very convincingly and Patterson took a knee even at rd 8 or so.
