Comments Thread For: Klitschko-Chambers: ****** On Demand To Carry PPV

Sport and events channel Primetime will now be available on ****** TV via On Demand > Live Events. Since Primetime launched on the Sky platform in October 2009 with the Super Six Super middleweight boxing tournament there has been great demand for Primetime to expand onto ****** by both boxing fans and promoters alike. The deal sees Primetime’s reach expand by over a third. [Click Here To Read More]

I can't believe HBO didn't keep a slot for this fight. They've always been enthusiastic about pushing Wladimir.

I'd be interested to see the numbers of people who buy the PPV in the UK, they'd do well to break 5 figures

That's not the reason for crying out loud. By the way, here's the full article:

What is it about the skilled and engaging heavyweight champion that makes U.S. fans ... yawn? Wladimir Klitschko has everything going for him heading into Saturday's fight against Eddie Chambers -- except Americans' attention.

The writer points to the fact that this fight directly conflicts with the NCAA tourney this weekend plus Chambers put on a poor performance in his lone HBO showing. Not to mention I'm sure dealing with an overseas fight is a headache in itself. Maybe they feel this has the potential to be a stinker and they don't want to come and flat out say it. I don't know for sure. What I do know is that HBO is a business and for whatever reason they don't feel the fight is in their best financial interest. One can either accept that whether you agree with it or not, or can you believe HBO has it out for Klitschko despite showing his fights for years. Personally, I think the former makes much more logical sense.
