Was ANDRE WARD on STEROIDS against KESSLER?

At the end of the day, what Sauerland promotions are doing,is the step in the right direction. It is implemented in attempts to protect fighters and there should be no complaints.Maybe Floyd is going about it in a different way,but if it still leads to the same sort of path,I can not argue with it.oops...my bad. Got my andre's mixed up.
As far as Abraham goes...he'd actually already been doing it a full year before anyone in the mayweather family even mentioned the word "steroid". And it's not just Abraham, but every fighter in Sauerland promotions. Difference is they actually went through all the proper channels unlike Floyd who talks the talk but is not actually doin anything to improve anything. Abraham also never claimed to be "cleaning up" the sport.
Sure,Sauerland promotions may have been doing this for a year, but that doesnt change the fact that it has had to start with SOMEONE at SOMETIME. Why not NOW? It shouldn't cease because one fighter believes they are too good for this sort of advancement in testing...
Do you think Sauerland promotions would have a right to be su****ious and persistent to anyone refusing this style of testing? It really isn't important WHO starts demanding testing,as long as it happens...
Whether Abraham proclaims to "clean up the sport" is irrelevant. We all know that Floyd is more blatant in the way he carries himself as opposed to Arthur...
The only statement I am consistently hearing about is people wanting Floyd to NOT adopt this sort of testing policy when it comes to their favourite fighter (Manny)-which to me is taking a step backwards.
BTW-do you support the idea of Floyd demanding similar testing,or would you if Manny requested this?Last edited by damned1974; 03-18-2010, 03:23 AM.Comment

********s and **********s both want what's best for the country. They go about it in different ways but it still leads to the same sort of path. I have never had any problems with Floyd's quest for better testing. What i have a problem with is that his quest is hollow and full of ****.
Sauerland productions went through all the proper channels and got the athletic commission and the government's approval to go about their testing. Floyd aint doing **** but trying to save face from a backfired bully tactic.
Floyd is supposed to be the face of boxing and well within the realm of influence. Better testing would be in place already if he was even half as serious about cleaning up the sport as he says he is.
He could easily bypass the state commissions entirely by lobbying the sanctioning bodies for improved testing for title fights. You really think the WBC would turn a deaf ear to 1 of it's most prolific champions in history???Comment

Let's not get into American politics.********s and **********s both want what's best for the country. They go about it in different ways but it still leads to the same sort of path. Do you really not argue with the decisions government makes???

Again, this is only an issue because people dislike Floyd. Maybe he should speak to certain commissions, but if he feels that they won't listen anyways, despite his supposed "influence",the next best thing to do is to ask the fighters themselves to agree with the testing. The irony is that some people don't want to adopt this form of strictness on their own free will and instead will only accept it if it is forced upon them in the future.Since Manny is rather influential in this sport and has been "accused",I wonder why he doesn't press this subject...is it because he doesn't care or doesn't want it?
Asking commissions is not an overnight process and for them to admit that they need stricter testing is almost like them admitting that their previous testing has been inefficient all along-something most of them probably wouldn't be so free to admit because it makes them look incompetent.Luckily some states are now considering this sort of testing. Can we agree that this is positive regardless of who wants strict testing, because if you take out the names (Floyd) who you dislike, the actions they want are really in the realm of fairness (and cannot gain an unfair advantage) and only benefits the sport.
I struggle to find a way that this is a bad thing...Last edited by damned1974; 03-18-2010, 03:37 AM.Comment

Testing is good yes...all sports could use better testing.Let's not get into American politics.

Floyd Mayweather jr wanting better testing??? who cares??? better testing is good.
The problem is that he's not improving anything.
Again...Floyd could bypass individual state commissions entirely by going straight to the sanctioning bodies and asking for better testing requirements for title fights. With the relationship he's had with the WBC they would listen to anything Floyd said if he only cared to ask.
Floyd has more than enough money and resources to start a non-profit organization to educate young athletes of the dangers of steroids.
those are real efforts that would get real results. All floyd is doing by asking opponents to do additional testing is saying "look at me. im important"Comment

Roy Jones Jr. TESTED POSITIVE at the heights of his power. and he didnt get a single thread about it.

Sounds like a reasonable response.Floyd has started something, and hopefully goes beyond asking future opponents.Nonetheless,he has planted a seed that has gotten a lot of people thinking about the testing in general.Testing is good yes...all sports could use better testing.

I know a lot of people that knew very little about drug testing until this whole fiasco, yet now know a lot. That in itself is a positive start.I am sure he will ask all people in the future, but what I don't understand is why future opponents would only agree to testing if it is forced upon them by commisions as opposed to freely doing this as a request. Both serve the same cause and to flat out refuse this form of testing is NOT a good thing no matter how you look at it-perhaps a good example is to compare how Manny dealt with this request and responded by filing a complicated lawsuit with a lawyer who doesn't specialize in libel/defamation.It just makes people more su****ious and harms his image for showing any resistance or rigidity towards this. There is literally nothing negative that would tarnish his reputation if he agreed to this in the first place...Comment

Maybe it's just that Kessler is overrated and Calzaghe sucks.According to the Los Angeles Times, Victor Conte, the mastermind behind BALCO, is back in business and helping athletes. This time, he claims that everything he's doing with his new firm Scientific Nutrition for Advanced Conditioning, or SNAC, is 100% legal, and that he's on the straight and narrow. Andre Ward has admitted to using Conte's services in preparations for the Kessler fight, and Conte states in the article that he's also helped with Eddie Chambers.Comment
