That's what I said but then I thought about it, he's probably in the same boat as Castillo. Mid 30's, washed up, broke & realized fighting his the best way 2 bring some decent money home. If it is, that's sad 2 see. Fighters try 2 kill eachother in the ring & 4get about how improtant that money should be 2 them. You put your life on the line, this isn't soccer or baseball. gomez before he fought sanchez:...17 fights before sanchez:...after winning title he faced: opponent with 4 losses,2 draws...next opponent had 3 losses coming in...next opponent had 6 losses and had just fought 2 weeks before facing gomez,not enough time,...next opponent only had 2 fights total as professional....next opponent had 4 losses,2 draws....next opponent was zarate boy was gomez good at hitting with the elbows,dirty fighter...next opponent had a total of 12 losses...next opponent another 12 losses....next opponent 9 losses....next one had 12 losses...next one had 0 but was a nobody,never did anything,not champ,nothing....next one had 5 losses and again a nobody.....next one was a bum with only 15 fights and again a nobody....then next one had 7 losses..next one had 11 loses....not that impressed with opponents records.....then after sanchez he fought someone with 3 losses in a row...then someone with 12 defeats..then someone with 4 defeats...then pintor,,,and then more nobodies...i like to see the opponents records,,if i see the opponent had faced ex champs,fought for title,then ok,he fought someone with experience,but he faced a lot of fighters who were nobodies and with a lot of losses,,erik probably did the same,,,but gomez too
