People need to learn to appreciate good defence

I see everyone basing Clottey for putting on a masterful display of defense.

Is it boring? if you don't understand boxing then yes, but against a volume puncher like Pac who can catch you at anytime you need to be extra careful.

So basically you would respect Clottey more if he just went out there and just started rushing forward like Hatton? I think you should stick to watching toughmen contests.

He did better than Pac's last 3 opponents and essentially laid out the blueprint for Mayweather and exposed Pac's weak defensive skills.

What so great about defence if thats all you use? Its all about winning the fight no matter how you do it.

    Pointless if you dont win

Great defence, look at Floyd, Pernell, Winky etc. Don't look at Clottey who hit behind his guard for 12rounds scared to throw a punch against the smaller man.

defence is the **** i am mean this **** is about hitting and not getting hit right? but with that in mind that means to me anyway you have to counter. defence alone will never win a fight you need to punch back. his display was just disrespectful and just dishonorable to himself and to us that payed 50 bucks

Masterful? A masterful display of defence is winning a fight by hitting and not getting hit back, not going into your shell and throwing nothing. What Clottey did was cowardice. He was just a heavy bag for 12 rounds. It was anything but masterful.

You can't appreciate that sort of defense. If you appreciate that then your either a hardcore Clottey fan, or trying to make Clottey not seem so bad.

That was a horrible display of boxing in general. How can you appreciate anything he did that night when it goes against the very unwritten rules of boxing? He did **** that inexperienced, new guy in the gym sort of people do. He is a professional boxer, a top rated one at that. That was horrible down right horrible.

That's the equivalent of a Running back walking mid-game with the ball in his hand. A point guard passing to the wrong team multiple times the entire game. A soccer goalie not even trying to block the ball. A pitcher throwing a 18mph lob at a home run threat, when all they need is one more out to end the game.

                    Just awfull.
