    Manny Pacquiao vs Edwin Valero

Anyone else think that Top Rank starts these rumors for the sole purpose of generating insterest in Valero? Same as GBP did with Saul Alvarez and Mayweather.

Valero is further along then Alvarez and Valero isnt 19 years old.

I think Arum is serious. Valero has mentioned Pac fight several times.

Could be, but I have suspected that Valero was a future Pacquiao opponent for a long time. Like, since he was at lightweight.

True but I think mentioning him with Valero hypes Valero up even more than he is which is what I think Arum wants because something tells me they are molding Valero to be the next Manny Pacquiao. I really doubt this fight happens anythime soon. Why would Arum want to ruin Valero like that? He's a future superstar.

People have been interested in valero for a while though.

According to Valero, Bob Arum promised him a fight with pacquiao if he signs to Top Rank, which is why he signed. I always kinda felt like Arum just told him what he wanted to hear so he could get him signed, while at the same time in the back of his mind thinking if Valero turns out to be the real deal and keeps winning, obviously a fight with pac could be pretty massive.

I think you might be right.

Margarito seems more likely for Pacquiao than Valero... right now.

I remember those rumors before Pac kept jumping up in weight but I just don't think Arum would risk Valero like that. I feel like Valero is not well known to the general public and can't see a greedy dude like Arum risking Valero right now. It might do good money for that one fight but he'll be losing so much money in the long run with Valero if Pacquiao ruins him (which I'm sure he would)...

Yes, this fight would be like Hagler Hearns and would not go past 3 or 4 rounds in either direction. I would like this fight to be at 140..maybe a little lower. Maybe you can fight fire with fire.

That would be awesome if Top Rank quickly got this fight in for late May
