    Lamon Brewster: Overhyped on BoxingScene?

I know, Lamon Brewster made quick work of Golota by knocking him out in 56 seconds. But before the fight, very few posters gave him any recognition, and said he was a "no skilled bum" and Golota would "roll right over him". I think the issue here is maybe it's not that Brewster is so unbelievably good, but maybe, Andrew Golota has lost his touch. Threads like Brewster-Vitali, and Brewster fighting big heavyweight names are insane. The guy Koed Golota, who has obviously proven to not be all mentally there in his past fights. But let's be realistic people, Brewster is not Ali. He is a fighter who got lucky against Wlad, and proved that Golotas career is over.

He got lucky against Wlad? No i think not, Wlad beat himself he came in to K.O. and was unable to, thus leading to his self-breakdown. It wasn't luck that let him take the punches, it was him not quitting. Now im not hyping Brewster, i think hes a pretty good fighter and putting him up against other big name heavyweights? YOU HAVE TO. Hes one of the damn chumps, none of the are really any good and in this day no matter how many wins they get none of them will really be considered "Great". Ruiz won't be considered great deserving or not because of his style. People like you saying Lamon was lucky or his opponent was unprepared won't make lamon great. Bryd might be the best of them all. On a final note..... Vitali is the Felix Sturm of the HWT division.....a man who gets his most recognition from a loss. Brewster is just as good as anyone out there right now, and he said he wants to prove himself so let him. If he cleans the division up was he over hyped? You judge.....also, side not if there ever is a HWT box off i predict Bryd to win it...

funny, I didn't hear you supporting Brewster so greatly BEFORE he ko'ed Golota...hmmmmm that's strange. Not lucky?! Wlad was beating him all fight, and he exhausted himself and since he has a glass chin, took the knockdown and lost, anyone could see that, except neils of course, who obsess's over anyone who beats Golota.

I'm behind Brewster because he's from Indiana and he's a good guy.

There was a major fight last week and people are going to talk about the guy who picked up a 1st round TKO.

People will be talking about the Chavez Sr. fight this weekend and there will be hundreds of Tszyu and Hatton threads the following weekend.

That's how things go on this board; you know that.

The HBO announcers first brought up Brewster vs. Vitali. When there's no certain champion, that happens after someone gets a big win. They did the same thing with Sam Peter...

What gives Brewster so much credit is that the other HIGHLY rated champions RUIZ/Byrd hold disputed decisions over Golota and Brewster made quick work of him. So in retrospect how does that make our 2 highly rated heavyweights look when this guy was considered a joke and wasnt even considered a contender let alone a champion.

Why didn't I say that before hand? I normally read I don't post all that often unless I have a comment I feel may benefit the board : ) I predicted Lamon to win before the fight started, although never posted. BTW it was evident in the Wlad fight that brewster could see him tiring, so he used it to his advantage, I think it was Round 3 when Wlad started breathing heavy with his mouth wide open.
