Former junior welterweight champion Paulie Malignaggi shot back at Manny Pacquiao's strength and conditioning coach, Alex Ariza. In an earlier report on BoxingScene.com, Ariza told Ronnie Nathanielsz that he wants WBA junior welterweight champion Amir Khan to destroy Malignaggi on May 15 at New York's Madison Square Garden. Paulie does have good skills, but whoever said that him and Mayweather are the reason boxing is doing well is nuts. Boxing got more popular in Floyds absence, and Paulie got his ass kicked by Hatton in the same time period. I think the reason Paulie really hates Paq is because when Floyd announced he was retiring instead of rematching DLH, Paulie started talking **** (imagine that) about "I will pick up where Floyd left off and carry the torch". Instead he got outboxed by Hatton of all people, Paq started cleaning house and carried the torch, and he is still carrying the torch. Paq is better for boxing than Mayweather and Paulie combined, a lot of people that didnt care about boxing two years ago started hearing about "that Phillipine guy" carving up weight classses and got interested. I work with several such people, both of them told me two and a half years ago "boxing is dead". I knew different, but they didnt. Then suddenly after Diaz and DLH fell victim, they wanted to know all about this guy Paq, and now they are interested in boxing.

All of this co-called "fan" commentary on Malinaggi is pure trash....garbage, and I think the "free speech" privilege for posters is being stretched far beyond what decent fans desire their BoxingScene editors to allow.

Malinaggi is an excellent boxer, brave and intrepid, slightly "quirky" with no real malice or harm in his disposition, as has been amply seen in the past.

Some of the wicked diatribes on this site and subject are pure wickedness snet in by depraved mental cases and should be shunted off to the refuse pit.

i can't believe people are overlooking Malignaggi in this one he just whipped juan diaz's ass and pitched a complete shut out diaz had more chance against campbell and marquez

when has khan been in with a juan diaz, or a miguel cotto or ricky hatton

i still think he will win but come on show some ****ing respect

and if anyone knows about Paulie's career they will know he suffered from major hand problems he was boxing with nails in his hand ffs
and he has a chin and heart it remains to be seen if Khan has wot it takes to be a true champion
