From where did Mayweather being a boring fighter come from?

Out of 40 fights he's been in one very boring fight(Baldomir) and one boarderline boring fight(DLH). That's 2 out of 40, so where did this "Mayweather is a runner", "Mayweather is gonna make it a boring 12 rounds" come from?

I thought there was enough action in the Marquez, Hatton, and Judah fights? Gatti, Ndou, Corley, were all exciting fights. Bruseles, Sosa, Both Castillo fights were fun to watch. Corrales, Hernandez, Burton, Manfredy.

So out of two fights, why do you guys call him a boring fighter out of just 2 fights that were boring, Out of 40 pro bouts?

From PAC fans.when PAC came up is when it started.they call him a runner yet the guy stands right in the pocket but u can't hit him. Your only exciting if u get hit I guess

Some people like to watch a display of boxing. Others like to see two guys slug it out in the middle of the ring. I rather see a display of high level boxing skills. Seeing how much punishment you can take is not boxing and frankly not smart as well. Guys like Ali, Leonard, Whittaker, etc never took unnecessary punishment.

If I can punch you in the face all day and not get hit. Then why would I do anything else but that?

If you continue to stand and trade your career will be real short. That's one of the reasons Roach is trying to teach Pac to expand his arsenal. So he can take less punishment and still win. One dimensional fighters don't last long, they get beat by the first guy a little bit tougher than them.

It comes from the DLH fight. That fight was hyped tremendously, and even those who like PBF and know his style were a tad let down by his strategy there. Every fighter is going to have a few fights that aren't good. PBF has had his. Can't call him boring all around though, it's not true.

He is boring. His most boring fight was his biggest fight. the DLH one. My dad who is a big boxing fan fell asleep. I guess he doesnt appreciate old men slapping each other.

He is cautious but not boring (xcpt for the Baldo fight)

Its one of those things that haters magnify when there is nothing else to say about a dominant athlete. I remember them calling Roy boring, then he lost now they dont really give a **** about him

Success breeds envy. Whenever someone dominates what inevitably follows is an inially small group start to nitpick and accuse him of (ducking, cherry picking, running, boring, lacking power, having beaten no1, having no chin, would lose in another era) etc

It just the way things are.

Floyd was hitting Baldomir all night. Was he supposed to just stand there like Clottey?
