The Event was so much a success and full of action that about a dozen drunk boxing fans decided to beat some random guys in the street after watching the fight, LOL.

Five men are arrested for what police are calling a random beating. Tonight, the victim tells us that's not even half of the group that attacked him.
Late Saturday night, the Manny Pacquiao, Josh Clottey prize fight was televised. The victims of a seemingly random beating say that fight may be the reason they were attacked several hours later.
It was just after 4:30 Sunday morning. Raul Selvera, 34, was hanging out with his friends in their neighborhood on Thurgood Avenue in East Austin, much like they were doing Monday evening when a vehicle pulled up in front of them.
"They stopped and six of the guys ran out and towards me and started fighting," said Selvera.
Selvera says a couple of minutes later another vehicle pulled up and about six more men got out and started attacking him and his friends.
"I was hit with a brick, then a bottle, then I was being kicked and punches all in the face, I was on the ground and I had my sweater over my face, couldn't seen nothing, and my friends came up and got me and they like, it happened so fast," he said.
"I was asleep and walked outside to hearing noises, like someone was screaming," said Garciana Flores, who witnessed the beating.
Flores says she witnessed the second attack.
"I was pretty nervous, pretty scared, I was in shock really," said Flores.
And then there were guns shots.
"I heard two gun shots, but I was on the floor," said Selvera. "My mind was going, 'Hey, I could have been shot, I could have been the one that got shot.'"
Police reports indicate no one was shot but a .45-caliber shell casing was found in the street.
"When they jumped our friend Raul, I decided to get the license plate numbers," said Flores. "I called the police to identify who the suspects were."
Five men were arrested, with charges ranging from aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated robbery and engaging in organized criminal activity.
"Everything was just going through my mind, one second, from having your life beat out of you to just standing there and being a normal person, just standing there being cool, the next second you got six or seven guys on top of you beating you," said Selvera.
The victims say a girlfriend of one of the men arrested told them the attackers got drunk while watching that Pacquiao -- Clottey fight and took off in the vehicles when it was over.
Anyone with information on the other men involved in the attack are asked to call police.Comment

This is why boxing isn't shown in bars much anymore. UFC fights don't cause nearly the fights boxing does. It's ironic to me.Comment

because boxing is so nationalistic. UFC is goal oriented. In boxing it's war...people take sides. In mma....people rarely care who's fighting...so long as it's entertaining.Comment
