He got a lot of recognition in Brooklyn. That's how he became so popular. I just wish he had stood on a knee after that punch from Tszyu...He would have been able to stand up and fight if he had. He was winning easily before the final min of the fight. Who knows, maybe he could have pulled off a victory, or at least a close fight.
Hwo did "Super Zab" reach mainstream success so quickly???

Agreed
When he was focused he was as good as anyone in his time, I always thought the main difference between him and Floyd was discipline and focus, you cannot get Floyd out of his gameplan ever, whereas Cotto forced Zab to brawl some, and Zab totally mentally blew his fight with Baldomir. Maybe if he would have had another trainer he never would have fallen from the top. He is almost always an entertaining fighter. I dont know if age has caught up with him, but I for one hope he can still make 140 and have some good fights there.Believe it or not ..Zab was incredibly and still is very gifted..he has blazin spped, Power, and he was a south paw..Those combos can be unstoppable as long as u have a decent chin or great defense..Zab was mayweather with gatti fighting syle..that's how he was so popular..I wouldn't call it hype cause he was good..his chin and focus just turned out to be poor...he is still world class just not eliteComment

It was only the 2nd round...He could have been stopped later for all we know. Btw I believe Tszyu was winning the 2nd round since Zab did just about nothing but a few jabs.He got a lot of recognition in Brooklyn. That's how he became so popular. I just wish he had stood on a knee after that punch from Tszyu...He would have been able to stand up and fight if he had. He was winning easily before the final min of the fight. Yeah, he hurt wobbled Tszyu in the 1st round. That's when you knew he had the power to KO Tszyu but he just didn't have the chin and he didn't stay with the gameplan. He got a lot of recognition in Brooklyn. That's how he became so popular. I just wish he had stood on a knee after that punch from Tszyu...He would have been able to stand up and fight if he had. He was winning easily before the final min of the fight.
