My take is it's not a bad choice fighting Cotto over Shane and your point that Pac avoided Shane is invalid.

My point is that Mosley was perceived as the bigger threat, could have generated as much or even more than Cotto, and was willing to make the fight, even move down in weight as far as possible. By Roach's admission, he was "too good."
