I wasn't gonna get involved, but here goes.

No, I don't believe he knew in advance what Pacquiao's reaction would be, although it's worth bearing in mind that info was already out there regarding Pacquiao and blood testing, since apparently Pacquiao was bothered by it during his preparation for the first Morales fight. On top of that, Alex Ariza mentioned (before Floyd ever mentioned random blood testing) about Pacquiao never having any immunization jabs because he doesn't believe in them. In the same interview, he said Manny won't even take aspirin for pain releif. I guess from these small clues you it's possible to come up with a way to throw a spanner in Pacquiao's works.

Personally, I think it's more down to mind games than anythng else. Both fighters have big ego's, and neither wants to bend to the others' rules. That's mainly what it comes down to.

I never get involved in these debates but it actually makes me laugh and shocked at the same time to find that the people coming out with logic have all got red k, whilst the others that mock this thread have tons of green k.

i'll give you that, if it's your belief. but i'm in consensus with the TS....the blood testing was in the contract from the jump, and had it been an "11th hour" clause drummed up, i'd be more inclined to entertain the thought of floyd using it as a cop-out.

in the real world though, there were just too many other points floyd could've been a **** about, if he didn't want the fight. before negotiations even took off, ppl were saying, including arum, the fight was gonna be tough to make b/c floyd would demand more money.

the way i see everything, is that the drug testing were mind games by the mayweather camp, however, manny's camp made it a dealbreaker b/c march was actually too soon for them.
