he wasn't aware he was getting any extra money though until after the fight.

I think clottey had the gameplan of thinking pac would slow down, but he never did. By the middle of the fight clottey already was taking damage and being worn down himself so he decided at some point just to survive. I think he felt he would get KO'd if he opened up anymore than he was (that's what his trainer said anyways).

no, no, no. Where did you come to that conclusion? Jerry Jones was so happy with the turn out of The Event that he decided to double clottey's payday (not sure if he also gave pacquiao extra money but one has to assume so).
