3 Million Filipinos in USA Watched the Fight?

The US national census is held every 10 years. The next census would be on 2010 and the government is recruiting Tagalog speaking Filipinos for the job. The old “Asian” category is now broken down into eight categories.

Here's an interesting statistics I found:

There are 100 Million Filipinos people worldwide
Philippines is the 12th Most Populous country in the world. 90 Million Filipinos lives in the Philippines.

3 Million Filipinos lives in USA
In 2000, there were an estimated 2.3 million Filipinos living in the United States. By 2007, the U.S. Census Bureau identified approximately 2.8 million. The census also found that about 80% in the Filipino-American community are United States citizens.

The foreign born Filipinos represent the second-largest immigrant group in the United States (2000 Census).
The group is surpassed only by the foreign born Mexicans

The foreign born Filipinos make up for eight percent of the total population of Hawaii (2000 Census).
    Hawaii - 8.4%
    California - 2%
    Nevada - 1.6%
    Alaska - 1.4%

The state with the largest number of Filipino immigrants is California (2000 Census).
    • California - 664,935
    • Hawaii - 102,063
    • New York - 72,408
    • New Jersey - 69,773
    • Illinois - 67,072
    • Washington - 46,733
    • Texas - 45,907
    • Florida - 43,422
    • ******ia - 36,325
    • Nevada - 31,491

Out of 3 Million Filipino-Americans, how many watched the fight via PPV? How many watched it in Dallas Stadium, Texas?

unfortunately, maybe at least 20 (or more) people (Fil-Ams) might be together in someone's place watching 1 ppv, which will be counted only as 1.

              pretty much.

most people hold parties so that's still only 1 ppv.

a good sign though is i had a few friends who are not even filipino and don't even watch boxing go look for a place to watch it (they went to a bar since they weren't invited to my place. LOL)

they don't follow boxing and not filipino and they still knew pacquiao was fighting so that's a good sign that people knew about the fight.

if you see web cam reaction to the ricky hatton knockout, there are at least 20 people watching the fight on t.v. and in the phillipeans they open cinemas to watch the fights, which also will not count as PPV.
