What do you know about Victor Cayo?

yeap I have seen 3 fights of him.

He fights with his hands down like Sergio Martinez, but he aint as fast or slick as Sergio. He have decent speed, and C+ power. He doesnt throw to manny combinations and his stamina is so so. He beat a faded Julio Diaz, but got gassed after 6 rounds and was getting tagged quite a bit by Diaz, who was shot and is slow.

He moves very good aroud the ring, and when ever he likes, he throws a very accurate hard left hand. He ducks and rolls punches quite well, but when he gets gass he gets cought often. His chin looks good though

His style is really a mix of Martinez and Naz, but without either guy skills. His style is very wrong for him.

I read somewhere else that they were trying to make Maidana fight someone who can defeat him so that he doesn't have to fight Khan to unify the belt.

The style of this guy makes me think that Maidana is going to knock him out easily. He really doesn't sound like someone who can defeat Maidana

Well, they think Cayo can develop his style.

But they dont really want Maidana to lose, they just want to keep him away from Khan

Hes not feather fisted. He was rocking Julio Diaz. Some one like Pauli Malignaggi is featherfisted. Cayo is a solid fighter, solid boxing skills, he is more polished than Maidana. He has a chance at beating Maidana but I think Maidana is the better fighter.

Cayo is an awkward fighter who keeps his hands by his side, pretty quick, not really a heavy handed guy as his record suggests but can hurt opponents by catching them walking into one of his awkward shots, pretty good footwork. Don't really get why they advertise him as a super prospect or anything like that though, I think Maidana will get to him in the mid to late rounds.
