No, he can't do the same.

He had a chance to make an even bigger impact when welterweight was the hottest division around.

Instead, he chose to let everyone else make great matchups while he sat on the sidelines.

    He wasted his opportunity.

He could have taken Cottos 0 and been the first to stop him, but Tony did.
He could have beaten Margarito but Paul and Shane did instead.
He could have beaten Paul, but Carlos did.

He wasted a tremendous opportunity to make a huge statement to the history of boxing and his place in it.

But since he didn't, he cut himself short quite a few levels of the top tier.

Pacquiao is the best boxer in the past 10 years. Haters can hate all they wont. Pacquiao is cleaning out the welterweight division and he is making it look easy so far. His only two options left to me is Floyd and Mosley. Both would be challenges but both would be different challenges. Even tho its obvious Floyd is scared of Pacquiao, Pacquiao would have to hunt down Floyd who does throw a good counter right and has boxing skills. But Then again would floyd come to fight or come to just pit pat and run?????
Mosley would go toe to toe with Pacquiao and would be a HELL OF a fight that would be a Classic in my opinion.

If he beats either Floyd or Shane he would have basically cleaned out the division of the elite. Very impressive considering this is not his natural weight.
It is amazing that Paq haters refuse to give him credit, and the only real reason they have is that they hate him.

            OUCH!!!

I think I'll just sit this one out and hear what others reply to this.
This should be interesting and, at the very least, slightly comical.

His only credible wins are over a traumatized Cotto and Clottey the moving punching bag. Yeah, he's cleaning out the division.......sure..

clottey is a good welter, dont get me wrong, but the dude has never won a big fight in his life. he was on a ladder below the likes of cotto and shane both of which are on a ladder below the likes of floyd and pac

the things he's done and accomplished are the reason why mayweather is not even close in greatness to pacquiao. pacquiao will be easily considered one of the all time greatest (if not the greatest) while floyd will always be made fun of and will never even be considered amongst the greatest. when you compared what the two have done, their skills, their resumes.. everything... pacquiao is ahead by an infinite mile!! pacquiaos legacy is already cemented!!

floyd became the joke of the sport a long time ago and you see him being called a chicken, pictures of him as a chicken, videos of him stuttering and giving the lamest excuses ever, etc etc.. that's when you know he doesn't have the respect of anybody. but there's not much he can do about it when he's ducked all the top competition through his career and has cherry picked lightweights or over the hill fighters. floyd is a fraud but manny is the real deal. that's the truth.
