Clottey has a whole different chin than Hatton and Cotto. Hatton was knocked down by Magee, Collazo hurt him and had him out on his feet, Mayweather knocked him out, Lazcano had him hurt. Cotto was hurt/wobbled by Torres, Corley, Judah, Margarito, and Clottey staggered him momentarily at times. Clottey has never been hurt by anyone except maybe if you want to count the Baldomir fight where it didn't really seem like he was hurt to me.

Point is he had the chin to take more chances than Pacquiao's previous opponents and he also had the accuracy to beat Pacquiao. He simply did not take any chances and was happy to be there like TS said. Just a friendly sparring match between two friends.

how many times is this thread gonna be done, jesus christ!

      You guys shame boxing

He had a poor fight, get over it! Manny did a lot of things in there to negate what clottey does well, not to mention clottey just can't match him in almost every department

exactly how i felt (and exactly how i feel about mayweather after every single one of his boring ass fights).

clottey's gameplan, apparently was to survive 12 rounds with manny pacquiao. it didn't seem as if he had any sort of plans to try and win the fight. this really bothered me due to the fact i heard him in one of his pre fight interviews saying "if i lose, i don't want to lose like all the others have lost to pacquiao." ... which leads me to think, he probably went with that mindset into the fight all along thinking he didn't have much of a chance. the guy is a joke. i really like clottey as a person and was wishing him the best but it's hard for me to do so anymore. i'll separate him as a person and as a fighter and say i only respect him for who he is as a person. i hate people with losing mentalities and those who don't recognize and learn from past mistakes. as if it wasn't so obvious the reason why he's still not up there yet with the big names..

he has claimed he got robbed a few times, he knows the reason why yet he continues to hold back offensively. he deserves to be where he's at right now in boxing and i find it really hard to support him or care about he does next. of course pacquiao had something to do with his offensive inactivity (pacquiao intimidated him with his work rate and speed.. he straight up shut clottey down) but he never took a chance, he never gave it a try.. specially thinking that this kind of big stages opportunity might never come again for him.

you could say he has a ****ty corner, well cause he does, but every human being comes with a brain. and it's not that hard to realize you need to let your hands go if you want a shot at winning.. specially when you've lost for that same reason in the past. he doesn't have that killer instinct that a boxer should have inside the ring.

Going 12 rounds against pac and not getting ko'd is already an achievement.
