compare; strategies, adapting to different fighters etc

whos has more boxing intellect and why?
    theoretically: close, probably Roach

Practically: Mayweather easily, being 10 times the boxer Roach ever was...

In his defense, it wasn't until he retired from boxing and Futch taught him everything he knew about training.

Id have to lean towards Mayweather!!!

If things arent going good in the fight for roach he has to wait till the end of the round to have his fighter make thee adjustment he needs too make, as where floyd is in the ring and can make the adjustment straight away!!!

They both have great ring smarts but just from a different position!!!

Mayweather Jr is a friggin kid compared to Freddie Roach, I don't really think this is a fair comparison.

Mayweather is easily more successful in the ring, he's a very smart fighter, but if you're talking about "boxing intelligence" then its not even close. Freddie Roach has lived and breathed boxing for 50 years and was taught and trained by Eddie Futch. The guy is proper old school. He's trained a whole range of world champions with a whole range of abilities and styles.

Mayweather has more boxing intelligence than Freddie Roach?? Give me a break.

Not legit comparison to make. Ones and apple but the other is an orange. A trainer is in a completely different position and the skillset required is not that of a fighter. In terms of boxing I.Q. both are very smart and you've heard Roach admit that Floyd is a very smart fighter. In terms of one being smarter than the other I would say Roach has more experience in the sport in that he's been a fighter and a trainer. Does that make his boxing I.Q. higher than Floyds, who knows?
