Clottey done the best he possibly could out there. I think he was just over cautious hense why he never threw many or come out his shell, being knocked out was the last thing Clottey wanted by the looks of it. Yes it wasn't one of his best performances but i honestly think he tryed the best he could unlike some are suggesting. Clottey just needed to open up a little more & be less cautious then he was maybe it was a little over the top. I think he deserves a little more props then he is getting around here, pacquiao destryed his last 3 opponents.
Clottey done his best out there

He showed the heart of a lion he did what no other fighter can do at this present time and thats go 12 rounds with manny pacquiao. I'd like to see if floyd could stand up to that punishment - i doubt he could. Clottey's defense was amazing - he blocked almost every shot manny threw. Did u see his face at the end - not a mark. Did u see manny's - exactly. People who say he should have opened up and attacked more know nothing manny would have eaten him. The fact he didnt have his own trainer all camp and he fought the best boxer arguably ever to live he did his best which was great. Im mannys biggest fan and im not even african or black but im very proud of Joshua - he's a winner in my eyes he showed the whole world the toughness of a real man.Comment

Clottey did the best he could, but when you fight the best that is what happens. Clottey isnt going to look great is he?
If he wasnt as cautious he would be a KO statistic like Cotto was. You have to find the right balance, and Clottey did. He did all he could do but came up short.Comment

it seemed like thats all he was aiming for lol...what did he land like 12 shots or something, i got respect for the dude but come on. He was fighting pacquiao ...pac kept trying his hardest to make the fight entertaining and clottey just walked around with his hands up probly thinking...your not going to knock me out....sorry.Comment

he also took some amount of body shots and kept coming......so well done to clottey for that.his high guard was superb, and becuase he wasn't willing to commit, manny didn't really have a chance to catch him with any real hard head shots, just the occasional hook to the side of the head.....rnd the back of the guard.Comment

He is a precise, good technical fighter...but he is set in his ways. He couldn't change when he needed, people don't understand when you have been boxing the same way for so long and it has made you so successful its hard to adjust when you come up against someone who can negate all of that.
He couldn't have won regardless of whether he opened up, maybe he should have a little more, but its easy to say that when your not in the ring and especially in against someone who is so quick on his feet and has better stamina then you, some of my friends were dissappointed with clottey but their casual fans who don't really understand the finer details of the sport, fact is clottey landed some great shots on manny but he is not a ko artist and he does things the right way and normally gets his feet in position to land power punches but manny's in and out movement was throwing him off, is just so much quicker on his feet, clottey was never gonna land a home run. If anything he would have got himself knocked out.Comment
